Michael for Model Number LA5700XSW1 Hi- My wife has been using the gentle cycle exclusively on the washer for more than 10 years straight. Recently, during the spin cycle, the clothes end up really soaked like the spin cycle did not get all the water out. I started using the normal cycle and the issue doesn't seem to happen. They spin down normally, with most of the water drained out. Would you think this is the timer that is causing an incomplete spin cycle or something else? Thanks
Answer Hello Michael, This could have been something in the pump that has since gone on out with the drain water or the timer can in fact cause the issue. This could also be caused by a spin bearing that is beginning to seize. This would only be the case if the load that came out wet was the second or third load and the spin bearing was already heated up from the previous loads. Since heat causes the metal parts to expand, this would not normally happen with the first load when the bearing is in the early stages of failure. Read More...
