Dan for Model Number LSB6000PQ2 I had asked a question before about my washer. I wanted to clarify my question. I cant get the motor to turn on. I have benchtested it and it checks out. I have replaced it with a new one and it still wont turn on. When i put the timer on spin i hear a hum from the area of the motor and no movement at all. No noise from the timer. Lid switch works and the noise stops when i open the lid. The pump is free spinning and not jammed. Motor coupler is good and i can rotate the transmission by hand and it makes the agitiater work in one direction and when i go the opposite it doesnt make the tub move at all. What else am i missing. You had mentioned earlier that it could be the timer but i think you thought the timer was buzzing which it is not. How do i test the timer and what else could it be? I dont see any pinched wires.
Answer Hello Dan. Based on the information you provided, it is a bad timer WP8546685 and you will need to replace the timer. You will test at the motor and see if both directional wires on the motor have 120 volts. If so, timer is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
