Clint April 07, 2015 for Model Number LSR7010PQ0 On my timer the clip that holds the selector knob half the clip broke. Can I buy just the clip or do I need to replace the whole timer?
1 Answer Clint, if its part of the shaft you'll need to replace the timer, part number WP8546685. Thanks. Read More...
Eyemno1 March 15, 2014 for Model Number WTW5300SQ0 I know there are some issues with my timer, but I'm concerned there are other problems as well. Basically, washer fills and nothing else. The push/pull knob when pushed in, will not turn the cycle selector (stripped or something). However, I can push and pull (start/stop mechanism), and manipulate timer control to make a noise, but it just stops after 10 to 20 seconds. I can manually turn it, but can't get anything to happen other than water filling. When I get the timer to make the noise as if it's running, when I open and close the lid, it will stop the timer noise which leads me to believe the lid switch is functioning. I'm perplexed. Help me, please.
1 Answer eyemno1, Based on the information provided, this issue sounds like it would be caused by a bad timer motor that is not allowing the gears to rotate and make contact. If the gears are stripped this would also be the issue. The timer part number is WP8546685. Read More...
Larry March 14, 2014 for Model Number wtw5300sqo When I turn on the washer to start to fill it will on come on. Then all of a sudden it will start to fill and then stop and restart. I have already replaced the time. I think it might be the water fill switch?
1 Answer Larry, You will want to check the water inlet valve to make sure that neither of the screens are plugged up. If they are they can cause this type of issue to occur when the water temp is set for warm water. If the valves are clean then the temp control would most likely be the issue. Read More...
Israel March 01, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool modell# LSR7300PQ2 I broke the knob on my timer and had one from an old washer to replace it and in the process of switching them a spring fell out and I need to know where it goes?
1 Answer Hello Israel. The model number you provided does not use the spring. The timer knob from the other washer may not work on the one your trying to put it on. Read More...
John S January 31, 2014 for Model Number RAS58333RQ4 The washing machine does not fill after spin for the rinse cycle have to put it on wash again to get it to fill and rinse no matter what type of cycle I use. Your consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
1 Answer John, Since the water that comes into the unit on the rinse is cold water then you will want to check the cold water inlet valve screen to make sure that it is not clogged. If clogged then it will need to be cleaned out. Also check for voltage to the inlet valve to make sure that there is power going to the valve at the beginning of the rinse cycle when it is supposed to fill. If there is voltage then the valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Steve M May 30, 2013 for Model Number Roper Washer Model # RAS8333PQO The washer will fill, then agatate but won't pump the water out or spin dry after the wash cycle. The timer will keep going through the cycle, although making a clicking sound, then agatate again in the rinse cycle (with wash water) and then pump the water out and spin. This is a intermittent problem only on the "Normal" cycle. It does not occur during the "Quick or Permanent Press" cycles. I have not had a chance to put a tester (voltage) on it when the problem occurs. The motor is not humming.
1 Answer Hello Steve. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Lee December 20, 2012 for Model Number WTW5300SQO Our washer will fill and wash as normal, but will not automatically go to rinse or, rather continues to wash. When we manually move the timer switch to rinse it will go to the rinse cycle and stay there until we manually move it to spin. We're assuming the switch itself needs to be replace. Would this be a safe place to start?
1 Answer Hello Lee, Based on the information is sounds like you have a bad timer WP8546685 and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Vic December 09, 2012 for Model Number lsb6000pq0 Last cycle wount spin water out completely. Please help!
1 Answer Hello Vic, Open the lid and grab one edge of the inner tub and try to move it. If it appears to be loose, (not referring to the spring loaded suspension), the drive block has probably failed. If the tub isn't loose, fill the tub at least partially with water and pull the drain line out of the standpipe far enough to see how fast the water is exiting the machine. If the water is coming out fully, I would next check the motor coupler. If you need more information, we have illustrated instructions on the dis-assembly and repair of these units, but due to incompatible formats, it cannot be posted here. We would have to send it to an e-mail address in the attachment. Read More...
Brenna Ryan December 09, 2012 for Model Number LSR7300PQ1 The issue we've been having with the washer is it not always spinning.Sometimes it's fine and sometimes I have to stand there, jiggle the agitator, try another spin cycle and somehow it does start working. After the cycle is complete, I'll open the lid to find a heap of sopping wet clothes. Had my dad look at it, and he said the motor coupler is fine, but was wondering if this might be a timing issue instead?
1 Answer Brenna, Have your Dad check the clutch assembly 285785, it's most likely "slipping" and not driving the tub in the spin cycle, properly. He may want to view thwe video attached to the part number so he'll have a better idea of whats involved. Thanks Read More...
Dan June 22, 2012 for Model Number LSB6000PQ2 I had asked a question before about my washer. I wanted to clarify my question. I cant get the motor to turn on. I have benchtested it and it checks out. I have replaced it with a new one and it still wont turn on. When i put the timer on spin i hear a hum from the area of the motor and no movement at all. No noise from the timer. Lid switch works and the noise stops when i open the lid. The pump is free spinning and not jammed. Motor coupler is good and i can rotate the transmission by hand and it makes the agitiater work in one direction and when i go the opposite it doesnt make the tub move at all. What else am i missing. You had mentioned earlier that it could be the timer but i think you thought the timer was buzzing which it is not. How do i test the timer and what else could it be? I dont see any pinched wires.
1 Answer Hello Dan. Based on the information you provided, it is a bad timer WP8546685 and you will need to replace the timer. You will test at the motor and see if both directional wires on the motor have 120 volts. If so, timer is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
