Michael for Model Number rtw4340sqo roper I have tested the lid switch and it works. I have checked all of the parts under the machine. I believe it is the timer. It goes through the cycles but does not spin. How do you confirm it is the timer?
Answer Hello Michael, The most common issue with this style unit is the lid switch. Be aware that the lid switch has to be actuated and if the lid hinge screws are loose or missing, this will cause the lid switch not to be properly activated. The next thing you need to check is the wires to the motor capacitor. If they lose connection it will cause the same issue. If you want to check the timer, put the unit into the spin cycle and test at the motor connector for 120Vac. If there is no voltage there, you need to back up the circuit to locate where the voltage stops. If there is voltage there, the motor has failed. Read More...
