I just did a small load as you suggested. The cycles on the dial read SHORT / RINSE / SPIN. The dial & cycle stopped at about 1/4 before the word Rinse. Now the clothes are sitting in a tub of soapy water. I have a dot marked on the dial where everytime it has stopped, and this is the only time it stopped before the word rinse. The others were between Rinse and Spin.
Answer Hi J.G. The previous technical question was asked to see if the unit still spins once you manually advance the timer ? If not then you may need a lid switch part # WP8318084.
