This timer is the user-selectable control that advances cycles and powers timed functions on compatible laundry appliances. It replaces a worn or failed mechanical timer to restore proper cycle sequencing and timing. What it does:

  • Advances the control through wash/dry cycles and selected settings
  • Routes power to motors, heaters, and other timed components as the cycle progresses
  • Commonly used when cycles won't advance, the timer knob turns but nothing happens, or cycle timing is incorrect
  • Mechanical design — does not include a serviceable timer motor
What's included: One timer assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before inspecting or replacing the timer to avoid shock or damage
  • Some models require removing the console or control panel for access; keep fasteners and wiring order documented
  • The timer motor is not a separately serviceable part; replace the complete timer assembly if the motor fails

Answer

Gary, try turning the timer to a spin cycle and see if it spins, if it does not spin, you may have a bad lid switch. If it does, make sure the water valves are good, if it is trying to fill with cold water during the rinse cycle and no water is going into the tub, you may have a bad inlet valve. Also, the timer could have a dead spot and is stopping at that position and would need to be replaced. Just some ideas to check before buying a timer WP8541270
