Scott for Model Number Lsn2000pw4 My washer fills, drains, spins but doesn't agitate in any wash or rinse cycle. Sometimes I can get it to fast agitate after I put it in extra gentle wash cycle, then switch to regular cycle. If I can get it to fast agitate, it will fast agitate and then slow agitate, drain, spin and fill for rinse, then not agitate. I have replaced the agitator shaft, transmission oil seal, water valve, clutch, neutral drain kit, agitator dogs, motor coupling and capacitor. After the washer fills, the timer advances and the motor sounds like it is running and is operating the agitator gears in the transmission, but doesn't drive the agitator shaft. Is there a test to verify the controls are supplying signal and sufficient voltage to the motor to drive the agitator? I wondered if the timer could have a dead spot where it would supply signal to the motor causing it to run but not with enough voltage/amperage to agitate.
Answer Hello Scott. Take the cabinet off, then remove the pump and motor and the rubber coupling insert. Grab the part of the coupling that seats on the transmission and turn it manually both ways. It should spin one way and agitate opposite way. If it agitate grab the agitator to imitate the load. You may have there bad transmission or stripped agitator splines inside. Good lock. Read More...
