Jim for Model Number MDE9316AYQ Dryer will not heat. It will run forever if you let it. except in fluff mode the timer worked? Is the nonheating and not shutting off related? OR will the timer not work correctly if it never heats up. Bad heating element?
Answer Hello Jim. The no heat will affect the advancement of the timer in a auto cycle. Timed dry should work as normal. You will need to repair the no heat issue. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity.
