Kenneth for Model Number KAWS850JQ0 My washer works but it will not advance from one function to the next. I have to push in the knob and advace the dial by hand and then pull out the knob to start the next part of the wash cycle. Do I need a new timer. IF I HAVE TO TEST, HOW DO I DO IT. Thanks KENNETH
Answer Ken, Based on your post description, sure sounds like a timer issue WP3952888. You can test the timer motor for a resistance reading or voltage (120 VAC) across the tan and white/black wires on the timer wiring harness block. it usually checks OK, and winds up being a mechanical failure in the timer itself.
