Dale for Model Number MDG9606AWW Our tech believes our old Maytag may need a timer. He has thoroughly checked components under the dryer drum and they are operating properly. Good exhaust air flow too. However he says he can no longer get a timer for our model and I should consider replacing the dryer. Is he correct? It would appear that part AP6007953, timing unit, will work for this model. Is this the same timing unit I have in my model now? Mine is the original part. Our tech has worked on our appliances for years and has always been spot-on with repairs and pricing. I'd be disappointed to learn he didn't really check on timer availability before recommending spending money on a new dryer.
