Marcus for Model Number LAT8415AAE My Maytag washer (Model LAT8415AAE) stops at different places in all of the cycles, but if I put sideways pressure on the main nob and hold it, it usually starts up again and will run for awhile before it stops again. I assume that I need to replace the timer and that it has finally just worn out, but I just wanted some verification that it is most likely the timer and I'm not getting into a repair job that's over my head. The two reviews that I read said that it's an easy replacement and that it should take about 15 minutes. I'm pretty handy, but have never worked on my washing machine before. Thanks
Answer Hello Marcus, The timer is going to be the issue. Changing it will not be a tough task if you have the proper tools, dis-continue power to the unit before beginning, and remove one wire from the old timer and install it on the new timer in the same location, remove the next wire and connect it properly to the new timer and so on until all wires are changed over. If you remove all of the wires, you will need to pull the wiring diagram and trace the wiring to reconnect. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, April 30, 2015
