Before starting any repairs, always make sure the appliance is completely disconnected from the power source. As a genuine OEM part, this part has been sourced directly from the manufacturer and is only sold individually. This timer is manufactured from high quality and durable materials to ensure sturdiness and reliability. It is intended for use with certain laundry centers that have been manufactured by brands that include Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Norge, and Admiral.

Fred for Model Number MLE2000AYW

My stacked Neptune washer will continue through cycles without stopping. If we wash a load on easy care, the cycle will run but not stop at the end. It will continue on and start over in the regular cycle. It will continue through the cycles until the Off button is pressed. Also, at times, the Timer gives a very loud ticking sound. Sometimes, the fabric softener is not empty. I have looked at the control board and nothing is burned on the board. Does this sound like a timer problem?

Answer

Fred, A timer problem, Probably Not. Power to the timer motor is supplied by the blue wire in the P7 connector on the washer machine control board, that's the more likely issue. The timers can be noisy and make a variety of different noises, but as long as the timer advances and operates, it's generally OK. So recheck the connectors and wires at the control board, then replace it even if it looks OK. As for the softener dispenser not empty. That is normally due to a lack of cold water. You will want to disconnect the fill hoses from the faucet and the machine, flush the faucets, and clean the hose and valve debris screens of any sediment or debris. You can also remove the cup from the dispenser, and pour a couple of cups of hot water into the dispenser body to flush out any residual softener build up in the dispenser and hoses.
