James Breedlove April 17, 2020 for Model Number Maytag Neptune stacked washer dryer. I recently purchased and installed a WHIRLPOOL Timer Part #: AP6006296 (WP22002452) Order #11424486 . It fits and is the correct part number. But I still have the same problem so I diagnosed it wrong and am not asking to return the part. Problem: On all 3 washer cycles types (normal, delicate, perm press) the timer stops when it has to transition from wash to rinse and rinse to spin, the timer stops and has to be manually moved. So, any ideas on what micro-switch I need to replace? thank you.
1 Answer James In order to provide most accurate advice, we need the complete model and serial numbers of the unit. Read More...
Jill L March 19, 2019 for Model Number WP22002452 So easy so I thought Id offer an easy how to.....I removed the front two screws from the panel that runs back 45 degrees below the control panel. Pulled the washer timer knob off and unscrewed the two screws with my screwdriver/nut driver combination. I pulled down the timer and unhooked the wiring harness, connected it to the new timer, and replaced the screws and the panel and it worked great thereafter.
1 Answer Jill, Great !!! We're Glad for you. It can be a little intimidating taking on such a repair, Thank You for the update and information. Read More...
Fred May 01, 2017 for Model Number MLE2000AYW My stacked Neptune washer will continue through cycles without stopping. If we wash a load on easy care, the cycle will run but not stop at the end. It will continue on and start over in the regular cycle. It will continue through the cycles until the Off button is pressed. Also, at times, the Timer gives a very loud ticking sound. Sometimes, the fabric softener is not empty. I have looked at the control board and nothing is burned on the board. Does this sound like a timer problem?
1 Answer Fred, A timer problem, Probably Not. Power to the timer motor is supplied by the blue wire in the P7 connector on the washer machine control board, that's the more likely issue. The timers can be noisy and make a variety of different noises, but as long as the timer advances and operates, it's generally OK. So recheck the connectors and wires at the control board, then replace it even if it looks OK. As for the softener dispenser not empty. That is normally due to a lack of cold water. You will want to disconnect the fill hoses from the faucet and the machine, flush the faucets, and clean the hose and valve debris screens of any sediment or debris. You can also remove the cup from the dispenser, and pour a couple of cups of hot water into the dispenser body to flush out any residual softener build up in the dispenser and hoses. Read More...
Gena November 16, 2016 for Model Number MLE2000AZW Washer does not go thru rinse. Usually starts rinse #2, after approximately 2-3 min. it stops, light "ON" goes down, door opened and water starts leaking from washer. If I push start button again, it continues to rinse. Then I turn knob just a little bit forward and washing finishes normaly. Can it be bad timer?
1 Answer Gena, Based on the information the timer would be the most likely cause for this issue to occur. Read More...
Leonard April 21, 2015 for Model Number Maytag Neptune MLE2000AYW (stacked) Washer (MHW2000AWW) cycles properly through all wash and rinse cycles but fails to stop after the final rinse. After the water has drained after the 3rd or 4th (extra) final rinse, the washer continues to "agitate" as if it is still in a washing cycle. The washer must be stopped by depressing the "Washer Start/Stop" button & waiting for the "Door Locked" lamp to go out. This "non-stopping" behavior occurs in every wash mode (Regular, Delicate, Permanent Press). In your estimation, does this call for the replacement of the Electronic Control Board (Timer) #22002452? Thank you in advance for your advice.
1 Answer Leonard, Yes, based on the information provided it does sound like the issue would be caused by a control board that is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Rick November 18, 2014 for Model Number MLE2000AYW My washer does not move through the rinse/spin cycles. It goes through the wash cycle then stops. We have to move the control to the rinse and it fills up but stops in the spin cycle. The washer does not drain the water out on its own but will drain if we manually move the wheel. All the motors and pumps seem to work properly but the automatic function seems to have stopped working. I know this is probably not a good description of the problem but let me know via e-mail if you need more info. thanks, rick
1 Answer Rick, You will want to check the latch assembly for a bad wax motor and check the control board to make sure that the R11 resistor is not burnt. Read More...
Steve November 10, 2014 for Model Number MLE2000AYW I'm having an intermitent problem with my washer. Sometimes it stops in the middle of a load. If we turn the timer 1 click and start again it is either fine or at least for a little while. This issue just started a couple days ago. I was thinking timer, balance switches or control board? What do you think?
1 Answer Steve, If the unit is stopping at the exact same time then the issue will most likely be caused by a faulty time contact which would require a new timer. Read More...
Jerry June 11, 2013 for Model Number MLE2000AYW Washer does not move through cycle but can be manually moved overwise it continues whatever cycle it is on, ie. washes load but never stops. It also does not spin in the drain cycle but water does drain.
1 Answer Hello Jerry. If the timer does not turn, and there is power to the timer motor, you will need to replace the timer WP22002452 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Robert October 05, 2012 for Model Number mhw2000aww My washer will begin filling with water but sounds as if it is spitting water. It dosent fill up all the way and then stops and does not continue through the cycles. It will then sit with water in it and not drain. If I set the knob just prior to drain it will begin to make the spitting noise but will start draining if I slightly turn the knob while still making the spitting noise. Could it be a timer issue?
1 Answer Hello Robert, This can be one of several things. It can be water in the supply lines, a bad connection between the control and the water inlet valve, or a bad water valve WP22002437. Read More...
Chuck October 01, 2012 for Model Number Maytag Combp Washer Dryer--Washer timer control Washer does not move through cycle but can be manually moved overwise it continues whatever cycle it is on, ie. washes load but never stops.
1 Answer Chuck, Apparently you have a MTG "Neptune" stacked laundry system ? Power to the timer motor is supplied from the "machineControl" board, located in the right front corner of the dryer cabinet. The voltage is intermittent, and is controlled through inputs from the sensors and switches,in the washer. We'll send you some information, and you may want to get your hands on a multimeter to test the circuits TJMA-DM1 it'll be less expensive in the long run. Read More...
