Jeff for Model Number MAV6250AWW

What is a sure way to test the lid switch .I see on diagram of the NO and NC postions but it says ohm meter will not test it. I took it off but its sealed. Also trying to determine if motor is even good. Pulley will turn along with belt at all three pulleys. Not sure water switch is good. Not sure what my main problem is. Thinking its got to be timer. On again off again problems with washer stopping with water in it and this time I am unable to do anything to make it run.

Answer

Hello Jeff, The way that you would test the lid switch 12001908 is to measure resistance between L1 (line)and SW (machine) terminals. You should have continuity with lid open or closed. L1 (Line) to M (motor) with lid open No continuity and with lid closed no continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
