Hello Bruce. You will need to trun the timer to the on position, and test across Black and Yellow and Black in the auto dry mode. If the contacts is closed, the heater should work. If they are open, replace the timer. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
