Bruce for Model Number DE312 Let's summarize where I'm at. I have Maytag electric dryer DE312. The timer does not move on the "Auto" settings between the "more dry" and "less dry". It does move on "timed dry" and on "Auto" only if you move it below the "less dry" setting and the dryer will shut off. I have tried a new timer and that didn't fix the problem. Reinstalled the old timer and then tried the cycle thermostat and you sent me item AP4037126 which only has 2 wire connections and my DE312 has 3, so could not install. Last suggestion from you was to clean the moisture sensor located inside the dryer drum. My dryer doesn't have this sensor. One of the fellows told me the 3 wire cycle thermostat for this model has been disconnected, however, I found a like thermostat on model DE612, actually 2 of them with the numbers AP4290671 and AP4290686. Do you think I can use either of these and also, do you think this part is my problem? The numbers on my old thermostat are 3-04475-2 and there is also L140-20F along with 3 other numbers being, 203371, 60T13 and 8742.
Answer Hello Bruce. If the old cycling thermostat has the same numbers as the new one on our site, it should work properly. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, May 20, 2011
