Rob for Model Number MDE7400AYW serial 12708808ax I have to rock the timer knob to start the dryer and when the dryer is done I have to wait until it cools down before I can start the next load. If I rub the dryness sensor bar in front with a cool rag it will then start, but still have to rock the switch. Other than that the dryer cycles fine. Would this just be the timer or something else
Answer Rob, Based on the serial number, you need to order WP33002855 . Touching or cleaning the sensor bar in the front, should have little to no effect on the start circuit on the motor. The loose timer shft, can and usually does cause other issues with the heat cycle and start. Replace the timer and we're sure most if not all the issues will be resolved.
