Moe for Model Number LA5558XTW2 I purchased a new timer (part no. 3946430) to replace the old timer (part no. 3351811B) on my washer (model no. LA5558XTW2). The new timer does not have the threaded mounting holes like the original timer has. Is this a defective part or has the way that it should be mounted change?
Answer Moe, You have the correct part number WP3946430. Things have changed. The original timer [3351811] probably had threaded stand offs. The new timer wouldn't have these, and the timer body has pre drilled holes in the housing in the same location as the stand offs. you'll find it a bit easier to partially install the mounting screws into the timer holes, before you install the timer.
