This is a large burner bowl replacement that can work with many models of stoves and ranges. Another term for these bowls is drip pan. The purpose of the drip pans is to protect the inner workings of the stove. They catch spills and drips when cooking. The stove shouldn't be used if the drip pans are damaged or missing.The main reason that the burner bowl might need to be replaced is that it has become dirty and can't be easily cleaned. Additionally, there is the chance that the burner bowls could eventually start to rust. This is a simple repair and should take only a few minutes. I bought the replacement drip bowl - large and the rubber gasket which was delivered quickly. Specific steps: 1)turn off electricity to cook top 2) remove burner grate, burner cap and collar 3) remove two Philips head screws near center hole 4)lift out drip bowl and reach under it to remove electric plug to igniter. This is a medium burner bowl, also sometimes known as a drip pan, and it is made for ranges, stoves, and cooktops. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. The burner bowl is situated underneath the heating element and is able to catch any food or debris that falls when cooking. Repair was really simple. Removed power from stove to insure igniter would not fire. Removed parts to gain access to 2 screws securing burner bowls to stove top. Removed screws. Lifted up burner bowl and disconnected igniter wire from igniter and removed old burner bowl seal. Transferred igniter to new burner bowl and installed new burner bowl seal.Connected igniter wire and secured burner bowl assembly to stovetop with screws. Replaced parts removed earlier.
