David H Moraga , CA June 12, 2014 Bosch dishwasher was running waaaayyyy too long and control buttons had failed This is a common problem with the Bosch product evidently. After watching the on-line instructional video, I ordered the control module from APP. The part arrived quickly and the replacement of the module was very easy. Within 10 minutes of starting the project, the dishwasher was repaired at a fraction of what it would have cost for a service call. Orson B Arlington Heights , IL April 28, 2015 Appliance: Model BOSCH DISHWASHER SHU6802UC/UC12 Control module timing was off taking too long to wash and would get stuck on "1" forever Replaced the Control Module. A known problem with a bad solder connection on heater relay. Removed door front panel containing control module, wiring, door latch, and ON/OFF switch. Unsnapped the holding brackets (mostly plastic) from the front cover, then the control module. Unplugged control module, then carefully worked it out of the metal framework. Reversed procedures to install a new control module. Was careful handling the front cover, as the "piano key" pushbutton switches and red "lights" would have all fallen out, all over the floor. James L Lynchburg , VA September 21, 2015 Appliance: Bosch SHU5316 UC/12 Bosch dishwasher quit working I hired a repairman several years ago to replace the control module in our 2001 Bosch dishwasher. When it quit working with the same symptoms, I decided to try to replace the module myself. I watched a Youtube video showing the replacement of a control module in a Bosch dishwasher. This was a different model than mine but it still looked simple enough. I ordered the control module from ApplianceParts and it came promptly in two days. I first turned off the power. I then proceeded to follow the video until the module was exposed. The only problem was in figuring out how to remove the module since it was different from the Youtube module. I finally figured out how to remove it and replace with the new module. I had taken a picture of how the wires were installed on the old module so I used this to make sure I had installed them correctly on the new module. I installed the door covers with the help of my wife with no problem. I turned on the power and pressed the start button on the dishwasher. The unit started counting down but I wasn't sure it was working properly. I remember the repairman stating that he had to do a reset. I looked online to determine how to do a reset. I depressed the ON/OFF BUTTON at the same time as the SCRUB WASH and DELICATE/ECONOMY buttons and held for 3 seconds. The unit then starts counting down and when at the end it is reset. I turned it off and then on and it works perfectly. Sorry Mr. Repairman but I don't need you. Steve S South Charleston , WV March 15, 2015 Appliance: Bosch SHU6802 UC/12 (FD 8003-) Bosch dishwasher control module replacement Based on information from this site and others, I determined that my Bosch SHU6802 dishwasher needed a new control module. The repair seemed pretty straightforward until I inadvertently removed the screws holding the inner door frame to the hinges. Hint to those of you considering this project, don't remove the four larger screws on the bottom part of the door that point toward the middle of the door. If you do, the repair just became a lot harder as you'll likely have to wrestle with the hinges to get that part of the door reattached. A pro would probably pull the dishwasher out, remove the side panels, and disconnect the hinge pulleys to properly reattach the door. I didn't want to do that for several reasons, and I eventually used a couple pairs of Vise-Grips to give me some leverage on the hinges and enlisted the assistance of my wife to hold one side open at a 45 degree angle while I attached the other side. Anyway, during the hinge mishap, the front panel of the door (from which I had already removed the screes) fell to the floor breaking the power module. So I got the control module in without too much trouble but had to go back to Appliance Part Pros for a power module. Fortunately, it was in stock and shipping was amazingly fast. Ordered it on Thursday evening and had it on Saturday. Replacing the power module was easy, and I was finally out of the doghouse. Thanks!
