Lisa T Charlotte , NC August 19, 2014 Broken face panel/handle This piece actually began to break over a year ago. At first it just wasn't attached well any longer and you could feel some give in the handle when you opened the door. The problem was two clips that attach to the metal frame had broken and gradually the entire front cracked. That was when I decided it was time to fix it. I am a 42 year old single woman with a bit of know how so this did not intimidate me. It was relatively easy to remove since it was broken but the new piece was trickier because it still had all the tabs and they have to line up. I found that putting the top in place and rolling the piece down worked best. Some resistance is normal but take your time and line everything up correctly. Also, I reused the On/Off and wash cycle buttons from the old piece since they were fine. This was easy enough to do but I learned that even though the wash cycle buttons look identical, they are not. The order matters if you want to be able to push the buttons. When my dishwasher was stuck on the rinse and hold cycle, I had to disassemble it again and discovered the problem. Each button has a letter on the back (C,D, or E) and the piece has a corresponding letter printed for each space. Just match them up and be sure the correct button goes in the correct space.. All in all this was fairly easy to do myself and it saved me at least $100.
