Jerry's W Washougal , WA November 19, 2017 Appliance: Model SHE43P25UC/64 Broken fascia on Bosch dishwasher. The old fascia had broken and been torn off. I should have saved the buttons from it, but I didn't know that I'd be repairing it - I figured I would have to replace the unit. Well, money is tight, so I got the model number from the unit and looked up parts online. I couldn't find the exact model number on this site, but the picture of the fascia looked just like the picture in my manual, so I bought it, a handle strip, and a new set of buttons. I pulled the stainless panel off the front, then removed the screws that were still holding the brackets left from the old fascia. I installed the handle strip and all the buttons in the new fascia, and put it on the dishwasher. There are several tabs that have to line up with slots in the door. I made sure everything lined up, rolled it into position, and snapped in the locking tabs, and put in the screws. I replaced the stainless panel, and tried to fire up the dishwasher. It wasn't working! Some of the six buttons were very stiff, stuck hard in the 'out' position, and they couldn't be pressed in. They looked lined up, so that wasn't the issue. I took the fascia off again, and inspected the buttons. Each one has tabs on the back to stop its travel when depressed, and they were all different sizes. Each also has a letter on the back, so I thought that maybe the problem was that I had installed them out of sequence - but the control panel is flat; there are no differences in the height of the buttons on it, so I really wasn't convinced that would solve the problem. I put the fascia back on, and the issue was still there. So I removed the thing one more time, and pulled the six buttons out of it. I took them out to my wood shop and sanded the tabs all to the same level as the shortest on in the set, and reinstalled everything. The buttons now work fine, and the dishwasher fired right up. Now my dishwasher looks just like new again. Tools used: one torx driver for the screws, and a flat blade screwdriver to help ease out the locking tabs. Oh, and a sanding block to level the tabs on the backs of the buttons. Read More... 18 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Randy E Hancock , ME September 01, 2017 Appliance: Model BOSH DISHWASHER The top plastic panel facia which houses the handle to open the door broke the panel is held on with two screws at the bottom which is a stress point and design flaw The parts from AppliancePartsPros.com arrived a day ahead of schedule. (I'm a big APP.com fan.) I removed the metal front door panel, then removed the broken plastic Panel-Facia which houses the handle. Because the buttons and handle trim needed to be transferred from the old Panel-Facia to the new one, I expected that, also being plastic, they may break when making the transfer, so I ordered all of those parts as well, which only drove the cost up about $32. If I broke one item in the transfer, then it would have delayed the fix and incurred additional shipping costs. Sure enough when I removed the handle trim, one of the plastic detents cracked. Murphy's Law. The plastic door handle is located at the top of the door. Dishwashers produce heat; heat rises; heat vents; plastic gets brittle when exposed to temperature fluctuations. Time required to replace the parts was fast; maybe 15 - 20 minutes cover to cover. Take it slow and be gentle with the plastic parts. David U Lemont , IL February 29, 2020 Appliance: Bosch Dishwasher SHE43M02UC/50 Cracked facia panel Removed 10 Star Screws to get the door cover off and the fascia panel snapped off. Inserted the 6 buttons and the door handle into the facia panel prior to snapping it in place. Screwed the door cover back in place and the job was done. The facia has two tabs that need to be inserted into the door. Be careful not to crack them as they seem fragile. The first facia panel I ordered arrived with with one of those tabs cracked off. Dave H Watkinsville , GA February 22, 2021 Top panel facia broke after several years. I ordered a new Panel/Facia and bought replacement buttons just to be safe. All were pretty easy, but two things to BE CAREFUL about that are important. First, watch the videos about how to remove and replace the facia panel because if you do it improperly you will easily break the plastic tabs and be screwed. Secondly, The five-button MUST BE INSTALLED IN THE RIGHT ORDER. They are different from each other and the DW will not work if you don't notice that, they have letters that are stamped on them and on the spots they go in the panel. Because I missed that detail, I kept thinking I had gotten them in a bind somehow snapping it in place, but they were out of order. Otherwise, if I had to do it again, it would only take me about 15 minutes. David B Asheville , NC September 22, 2020 Appliance: Bosch Dishwasher SHE45M06UC/50 Panel facia was broken and one button missing Replaced Buttons and facia plate. What I DIDN'T know was that the buttons, though they are just plastic and look identical, are not and they are labelled B through H. If you put them in any other way (and they do go in without a problem) the push buttons don't work right and you can't run the dishwasher. I wish I knew before hand it would have saved a LOT of trouble! Anyhow, once I lined them up and matched them all was good.
