Roger M Locust Valley , NY June 12, 2020 Appliance: Bosch Dishwasher SHE3ARF2UC/08 Bosch dishwasher: water inlet valve cracked. After first thinking I had a leak under my sink (dripping into my workshop in the basement), I quickly traced the source back to my Bosch dishwasher. I removed the bottom kick plate (phillips screwdriver) and could see a continuous drip from the Water Inlet Valve. Easy to see because the Water Inlet Valve is mounted in front. I shut off the power to the dishwasher at my breaker box and turned off the water to the dishwasher. First, I easily disconnected the power clip at the back of the Water Inlet Valve. Next I disconnected the water supply compression fitting. This then allows easy access to two torx screws holding the Water Inlet Valve in its mounting bracket. After unmounting the Water Inlet Valve, use a pair of pliers (I used needle-nosed) to push back a hose clamp off of the clear braided hose at the rear of the valve. You've now completely removed the Water Inlet Valve. From the OLD Water Inlet Valve, I had a 90degree elbow for the supply compression fitting. I removed it to use on the NEW Water Inlet Valve. Thread the 90degree elbow onto the NEW Water Inlet Valve with teflon tape and turn tight to just past 3:00. When tightening, BE CAREFUL NOT TO LEVERAGE ON OR TURN ON THE PLASTIC PIECES OF THE NEW WATER INLET VALVE. When the New Water Inlet Valve is ready, reinstall the clear braided hose at the rear and re-set the hose clamp over the clear braided hose. Its easier now to reattach the electric power clip at the back of the Water Inlet Valve. Then remount the Water Inlet Valve onto its mounting bracket. Attach the water supply to the 90degree elbow. Turn on your power and water to check for leaks. I also ran the dishwasher for a few minutes. No leaks. Reinstall the kick plate and YOU'RE DONE! Great opportunity to clean dirt and stuff from underneath dishwasher as well as an opportunity to wipe off gunk from all the unseen dishwasher edges. Brian B San Jose , CA March 29, 2020 Appliance: Bosch Dishwasher SHE43P02UC/64 Found water on the floor and the dishwasher drain pump ran constantly while the inlet valve was leaking The fix was pretty simple once the problem was known. I pulled the dishwasher out and then I noticed the ripple in the pan that collects the water an I could see it was coming from the inlet valve. Once I knew this was the problem, I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros and it arrived fast. While the dishwasher was pulled out, I turned off the water and tipped it forward to drain the water (have towel to catch it and clean up). I reinstalled the dishwasher since the repair can be made from the front by removing the kick plate. When the part arrived it was very easy replacement, first make sure the power and water is off. - Remove the kick plate (2 phillips screws) - Disconnect the water supply line from the inlet valve - The inlet valve is at the left side, remove the (2-T20 screws) - Remove the inlet valve - this actually required moving and positioning to get it to come out. - Pull out the electrical connection - Using pliers, compress the clip on the water line and slide back. - Remove the water line - Remove the supply line connection elbow from the failed part. - Remove the old teflon tape from the elbow and wrap with new teflon tape. - Install the elbow in the new inlet valve, leaving it at at about 4 o'clock position. - Replace the water line inside the dishwasher and use the pliers to slide the clip back to position. - Insert the electrical clip into the inlet valve. This only goes one way. - Position the inlet valve so the 2 screw holes are lined up and secure with the 2-T20 screws. - Connect the water supply line (do not over tighten) - Connect the power (plug it in) - Turn on the water and check for leaks at the supply line connection. - Turn on the dishwasher and run a cycle - checking for any leaks from the water inlet valve. - If you did not drain the water, you may still have the pump running until the water evaporates and the float switch lowers and turns off. Brent L Cedar Rapids , IA May 18, 2015 Dishes would not clean I noted that others had a similar experience. The spray arms were free and clear and it was noticeable the circulation pump was working. The only part that was determined to be bad was the water inlet valve. My options were to either replace this part at a minimal cost or replace the dishwasher. I ordered my part from appliancepros.com and was there by day 2. Replacement took about 15 minutes. Dishwasher works like new again!
