Motor Shield (Washer)

This motor shield covers the drive motor on top-load washers to deflect splashes, lint, and debris away from the motor and wiring. Replace a cracked or missing shield to help protect the motor assembly at the base of the machine. What it does:

  • Covers the washer's drive motor to deflect incidental water and debris
  • Helps protect motor windings and terminals from splashes
  • Replaces a cracked, warped, or missing cover
  • Common signs: visible damage, rattling from the base, or corrosion/debris buildup around the motor
What's included:
  • 1 motor shield
Install notes:
  • Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply before servicing
  • Access the motor area from the bottom of the cabinet; note the shield's orientation
  • Remove the damaged shield and install the new shield fully seated, reusing existing fasteners/clips
  • Confirm clearance from moving parts before restoring power and testing
