Description

This damper is the vent backdraft flap that opens to let exhaust out and closes to keep outside air and odors from coming back into the appliance. It restores proper airflow control for venting systems. What it does:

• Opens when the fan runs to allow exhaust to flow through the vent
• Closes when the fan is off to prevent cold air, smells, and pests from entering
• Stops rattling or restricted airflow caused by a stuck or damaged flap
• Works as the airflow control element inside the vent housing or duct

Install notes:

• Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
• Access the vent or hood housing per the appliance service instructions; removal of grille or access panel may be required
