Hex head self-tapping screw for outdoor power equipment. Securely fastens components throughout your machine. Replace if missing, stripped, or worn.
This durable metal screw is designed to be used on many types of lawn and garden equipment, such as lawnmowers and snowblowers. The screw can be used to attach different components together so they stay stable and connected to ensure the equipment works correctly. It can be used on a variety of materials including metal, plastic, bricks, and wood. If the screw needs to be replaced, a visual inspection will indicate that. Screws often become damaged over time or can even break. Some screws also become stripped and no longer do what they are intended for. A hex wrench can be used to remove this screw from the machine so the new one can be installed. After installing the replacement screw, it should be tightened to ensure the materials it brings together are kept flush. This screw is made for use with lawnmowers, snowblowers, chipper shredders, and lawn tractors manufactured by MTD, Yard Machines, Yard-Man, and Troy-Bilt. It is sold as an individual part. This is an authentic OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer. A hex wrench may be needed for the replacement.
Hex screw for lawn tractors and garden equipment. Replaces missing, loose, or deteriorated fasteners in various mounting applications across the machine.
This is a flanged lock nut. It’s designed to apply tension, typically on a joint that needs to have a certain amount of flex. As such, it’s mostly used on snowblower chutes and lawnmower handles. They can remain in place, but with a forgiving connection that can take a beating. The nut size is 3/8, with a thread size of 16. A lock nut will generally last for many years. However, the silicone ring inside will wear down if it’s frequently tightened and loosened. It needs to be replaced when it will no longer reliably remain in place. Generally, this begins as a symptom of slight slippage and worsens as time goes on. Thankfully, whether it’s being used on a snowblower or a lawnmower, this nut is generally straightforward to access. Simply unscrew the old nut, then screw the new nut on until it’s nice and tight. Our flanged lock nuts are genuine OEM MTD nuts, and they are sold individually.
