This is a gas valve for a range or oven that controls the flow of gas to a burner. It opens and closes to regulate gas delivery when the burner knob is turned or when the oven thermostat calls for heat. Replace this valve if a burner fails to ignite, produces an uneven flame, leaks gas, or does not shut off properly.
