This no grease mandrel assembly is the part that houses the shaft where the mower blade attaches. It is mounted to the deck of the mower by three bolts, which are sold separately. The mounting holes on the mandrel housing are not threaded, but the bolts used to secure the mandrel to the deck are self-tapping. If the lawnmower is no longer providing an even cut, there may be a problem with the mandrel assembly. A broken or damaged mandrel assembly can severely reduce the mower's cutting performance. Replace it as soon as possible. The mandrel shaft goes through the deck, and the pulleys are attached to them, then the belt that drives the mandrels is placed in the pulleys.
