This overload protector is a small safety device attached to the compressor that shuts off power if the compressor draws too much current or overheats. It helps prevent damage to the compressor motor. Replace it if the dehumidifier or air conditioner compressor won't start, cycles on and off rapidly, or clicks but fails to run.
This is a rubber isolation damper (grommet) that mounts on the compressor to absorb vibration and reduce noise during operation. It sits between the compressor and the chassis to prevent excess vibration from transferring to the unit's frame. Replace this part if the dehumidifier is unusually loud, vibrates excessively, or produces a rattling sound when the compressor is running.
