This control board is a genuine Whirlpool part and fits a number of the company's ovens. The control board is installed behind the oven operator controls and is responsible for translating user input into action, such as increases or decreases in temperature. The electronic control board can be subject to a complete replacement process at any point within the typical lifespan of the appliance. The most common source of damage is spills and exposure to high temperatures. However, the contacts behind buttons will also suffer from wear and tear over the course time. This can result in intermittent problems or complete lack of operation, both of which will require the replacement of the entire board. To replace the electronic control board, the control panel will first need to be removed, which usually requires a Phillips head screwdriver. Make sure to unplug the oven before installing the replacement part. This is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced from Whirlpool and sold individually. It is compatible with Whirlpool and KitchenAid branded appliances.
