This is an inline fuel filter and is an essential part of a fuel system. This part can be found inside the fuel tank or fitted into the fuel line. The fuel filter is responsible for straining particles like water and debris in the fuel so that they won't reach and clog the combustion chamber and eventually reduce the engine's performance. Annoying sputters when starting equipment and uneven idling are incidents that may be related to a clogged fuel filter. To remove a fuel filter, first cut off the fuel supply and then slide the fuel clamps away to remove the filter. Remember to work in a well-ventilated area, with no open flame or fire source, when installing this component.
