This is an authentic oil seal that is designed for use with select models of small engines. This specific oil seal is found on the power take-off side, or PTO side, of the engine. It provides a strong seal for the crankcase to prevent leaks and ensure optimal engine pressure. Over time this seal will wear out and may break, crack, or shrink. This will affect its ability to provide a proper seal. That can impact engine performance, cause fluid leaks, and more. Seals and gaskets are always considered a part of routine maintenance and they should be inspected during other repairs to ensure that everything is functioning properly. If not, this part can provide a replacement. This genuine OEM oil seal is manufactured by Briggs & Stratton and designed for use in more than 150 engines that are made by the brand. The seal can be used in equipment manufactured by Toro and Murray, as well, including generators, mowers, lawn tractors, snowblowers, and other small equipment. This oil seal is made of durable rubber material and sold as an individual unit. A screwdriver, pliers, and wrench set will be required to perform this replacement. Be sure to drain the oil and only work once the engine is cool.
