This is a greaseable mandrel kit, also called a blade spindle assembly. It is the part of a riding lawnmower where the blade assembly fits. It's attached to the bottom of the engine with four self-tapping screws, which assure the stability of the spindle when the blades are turning. The mandrel assembly is a part of the riding mower that is intentionally meant to be the most breakable. This is by design, so the other, more expensive, more challenging to repair parts are spared. As a result, mandrels often need to be replaced. If you have to replace the mandrel, first take off the blade assembly and the mandrel cover. After removing the nut holding the pulley in place, remove the pulley. From there, it’s just a matter of unscrewing the four bolts holding the mandrel to the cutting deck. Replace the original mandrel with the new unit and walk back through the disassembly instructions. This is a genuine OEM part manufactured by Husqvarna and Poulan.
