How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP2802328 / 00166621 Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser Lid

After watching the video on replacing the detergent cup lid and latch, I ordered both. Surprisingly, they arrived the very next day. I decided to try replacing just the lid and the spring (not the blue latch), which did not require taking the front panel off. That was a very easy repair and it fixed the problem! The video was very helpful; I referred to it several times while trying to attach the spring. 

We replaced the lid and the latch. I watched the video and convinced my husband that he could make this repair. He did and the dispenser works great! 

After 15 years of at-least-daily use, the detergent cup lid had deteriorated such that the spring no longer gripped the peg adequately. I therefore had removed the spring and lid, not recognizing that the proper timing of the detergent release was significant to the overall sufficiency of the wash cycle. After a year of rewashing dishes, the proverbial light bulb illuminated, and I purchased a new detergent lid and detergent cup latch set (I only needed the spring, but not sold separately?). When my parts arrived, I connected the spring to the existing detergent cup panel and to the new lid, slid the lid back on the existing detergent cup, and voila - clean dishes straight out of the dishwasher again. Thank you!

Your site made it easy to identify the parts I needed and after they arrived your how-to video answered all my questions about what to do to replace the door and re-attach the spring. It's so great to have it working again! I used a small screwdriver for prying things off and pushing things on but I was very careful not to push too hard. I feel so empowered! 

Bought replacement detergent lid and circulation pump impeller online. The detergent lid was easy with the online video. The impeller was much harder, I never would have been able to do it without the video. It took a long time, much of which was related to peculiarities in the way my dishwasher was installed. But even apart from that, you really have to take the thing apart to do this job. I'd recommend marking any wires you disconnect because mine didn't correspond exactly to what was on the video. All in all, though, the fact that this company has the exact right parts and detailed videos makes for a very effective way to do business and I highly recommend using it. 

Purchased the lid and the spring kit. Easy to install, even I could have done it, though I had my husband do it. Did not need the blue latch, just the spring as ours was out of shape. 

Watched the repair video, ordered the parts and installed in under 5 min with no tools. The door does not come with the spring - so save it if your door breaks or you will be out another $6 for the plunger, gasket, and spring. 

Replaced door and spring after watching your invaluable video! Used the end of a spoon to get spring on to clip. 

I simply followed the steps demonstrated in the excellent video that was on the page for this part on the website. I was not positive that this would completely fix the problem, but it works perfectly now. 

Ordered new soap dispenser cover and new spring and latch. Watched a short video on replacement procedure and replaced the parts. The door closes and opens normally.
