Bosch 00166621 Detergent Lid OEM Part

After having seen the video I installed the new lid and it worked.

After watching the video on replacing the detergent cup lid and latch, I ordered both. Surprisingly, they arrived the very next day. I decided to try replacing just the lid and the spring (not the blue latch), which did not require taking the front panel off. That was a very easy repair and it fixed the problem! The video was very helpful; I referred to it several times while trying to attach the spring.

We replaced the lid and the latch. I watched the video and convinced my husband that he could make this repair. He did and the dispenser works great!

After 15 years of at-least-daily use, the detergent cup lid had deteriorated such that the spring no longer gripped the peg adequately. I therefore had removed the spring and lid, not recognizing that the proper timing of the detergent release was significant to the overall sufficiency of the wash cycle. After a year of rewashing dishes, the proverbial light bulb illuminated, and I purchased a new detergent lid and detergent cup latch set (I only needed the spring, but not sold separately?). When my parts arrived, I connected the spring to the existing detergent cup panel and to the new lid, slid the lid back on the existing detergent cup, and voila - clean dishes straight out of the dishwasher again. Your site made it easy to identify the parts I needed and after they arrived your how-to video answered all my questions about what to do to replace the door and re-attach the spring. It's so great to have it working again! I used a small screwdriver for prying things off and pushing things on but I was very careful not to push too hard. I feel so empowered!
