How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP7232451 / 17008311 Dishwasher Micro Filter Assembly

Easy! The old part comes out with quarter turn and the new one slips right in and fixes with a reverse quarter turn. No problems. 

Easiest home project ever. The old filter fell apart when I cleaned it. I ordered the filter and it arrived the next day. Thanks for the great service. 

I contacted AppliancePartsPros, selected a part which thought might work, and utilized the question feature re: whether this was the proper part for the Microwave model which I submitted. I received an e-mail response that there was a more appropriate part, which they had. They gave me the number: I ordered it; it arrived quickly; I installed it; and it works fine. 

Thanks to the pros at Appliance Parts Pros and the way a Bosch is made, all I had to do was lift the bottom drain plate, unscrew the old filter and screw in th e new. 

Very easy to fix 

My dishwasher has insulation behind the top dispenser and a plastic type wiring hanger that obscured my vision of what they call the clips that hold the dispenser in place. I'm not exactly what you would call mechanically inclined so figuring this out was a problem for me until I found the right video on You Tube. Once I removed the insulation and the wiring hanger I was able to remove the dispenser by loosening the clips and replace it with the new one and then securing it in place with the clips. My dispenser did not just pop back in place. The clips had to be reset with a screwdriver. (Video reference You Tube, How to replace the dishwasher detergent dispenser on a Bosch dishwasher. Quarter turn to remove the broken item, quarter turn to a-fix its replacement 

I found water in the overflow pan on the bottom of the washer causing a float switch to be made which caused the pump to run all the time. The water was coming from the left side of the washer at a round float inside a clear water fill device. The float was stuck from gunk that had deposited around the float. I also found a hose below this float switch going to the bottom of the filter in the washer to be full of gunk. I found the fine wire round filter was damaged allowing food particles to go into the tube and fill float. I cleaned out all the gunk and bought a new filter from Appliance Parts pro.com. I cleaned the water out of the overflow pan. This fixed the problem.
