How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP2821640 / 00413552 Grate Foot Kit

Originally ordered some that said they would fit - from Amazon- when they came way too big- big rigamarole to return them- still haven't gotten credit! Found these on your site and called and spoke to very nice rep who helped me verify that these were indeed the correct ones. Got them within a few days and Voila! I'm good to go! Thank you Appiance Parts Pros! 

Replaced the gas valve, worked great. 

We bored out the grate foot housing just a little, and replaced the ruined foot with another from the grate foot kit that we ordered from you. Works great. 

Directions were clear. However added the additional step of drilling out the old rubber feet from grate legs to ensure old rubber was not be left behind to cause obstruction. Placed a drop of liquid silicone adhesive into grate leg hole. Used a paperclip to fully seat grate feet . Placed grate immediately onto range top to allow its own weight to seat glued rubber feet during drying. EZ and worked perfectly. 

I checked online for a replacement part for the grate, because it was uneven without the foot. The part I ordered was not the exact part as before, but I super glued the foot to the grate, and it worked to even out the grate so that it does not tip back and forth anymore. It was a successful, inexpensive repair. I now have three additional replacements if this happens again. 

Hardest part was proper diagnosis. The gas simmer controller and potentiometer's that support the extra-low simmer feature on the 2 left burners are apparently common culprits. I had to use a Volt meter to zero in on the bad solenoid. The second hardest part was getting at the burner compartment. See this helpful video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8_rUV0wFyM. The venturi tubes like to "weld" themselves to the jet holder. I tried solvent and a 20mm socket wrench. That worked on one, but not the other. No luck. Ultimately had to use a dremel tool to cut through one of the tubes at about one half inch below top to free the cover. Then, I removed more piece to get at the faulty solenoid. I replaced it, tested it, and put everything back together. It took awhile, but it works quite well now. 

Ordered new ones 

As per instructions place silicone sealer/adhesive on part inserted into respective opening in grate. Cleared each opening by hand turning mounted indexed drill bit which match opening dimension before placing adhesive coated part into place. 

After I cleaned out the Foot hole on the great the replacement foot slid right in. 

Bought to four packs from Appliance Parts Pros, removed the remains of the old feet, cleaned the holes with alcohol and acetone and fitted the replacement feet with a dab of silicone glue (RTV) on each one. Everything now A1 OK.
