How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP5691116 / 00628306 Dishwasher Diverter Valve Seal

I pulled out the dishwasher and found the leak. I then went to appliance parts pros and watched a couple of videos to determine what part to order. (so helpful) The diverter came in two days ahead of schedule(also so helpful) The repair was very easy(thanks to the video) and I had it back in a few minutes later. 

Pulled out the dishwasher. Toweled up water in the drain pan to clear the code. Ran the dishwasher to observe where the leak was. It was dripping from the diverter valve assembly. Ordered a new assembly and searched YouTube for videos on taking apart a Bosch dishwasher. Replaced the part. $45 fix for a 6-year-old dishwasher. I could not get a service tech to even look at it for 60 days! Thanks AppliancePartsPros.com. 

I had an E15 error code on my Bosch dishwasher. I took the panel off underneath and using my VEVOR borescope was able to watch water drip off of the diverter valve, so I thought this seal was bad. But when I went to replace the seal, I could tell it was the valve itself leaking around the plastic welds. Replacing only the seal didn't repair the dishwasher. I then ordered the diverter valve part AP5691407 - it comes with the seal - and that finally stopped the leak. The valve is like a $50 part, it has to come off anyways to replace the seal, its just so much easier to do both at once than have to do the repair twice.

Purchased the BOSCH Dishwasher Pump Sump Seal Repair Kit and BOSCH Dishwasher Water Level Float. Adding the rubber seal was a little tricky and at first, we didn't realize that we didn't have to first remove the existing seal. The float was relatively easy to install. The repair seems to have resolved the leaking problem, and it was certainly less expensive than calling a repair person. 

Replaced both parts successfully 

Purchased a new diverter Diverter valve 0075190/ AP5691407 from AppliancePartsPros. 

Replaced the diverter valve - leak was due to the motor shaft grommet 

Watched the repair video available on the website. VERY HELPFUL. I think I would have been very frustrated without the steps shown in the video and how it showed how to disassemble to get to the diverter valve. My diverter valve was leaking and triggered the error code. The common failure is the o-ring but one I removed the diverter valve, I noticed the leak was from the valve shaft not the o-ring. I replaced the diverter valve with the new one. I ran into difficulty reinstalling the valve. I could not get close to engaging the bayonet mount due to placing the o-ring on the diverter valve assembly. After placing the o-ring on the sump assembly first, the valve reattached easily. Reassembly was easy and without the o-ring difficulty, I would say the dishwasher was back up and running in less than 2 hours. 

Your videos are incredible! I watched the video on how to replace the Sump Assembly and was able to take the unit apart and determine where the problem was. That video was instrumental in determining how to find the broken component, and which part I needed to order. Your videos and easy-to-use website saved me about $900 since I was able to fix this myself without buying a replacement dishwasher. Awesome stuff!
