I could never had figured this out without Beverly in customer service on the line helping me!
When water would turn on to fill the ice machine, it would gush inside the refrigerator instead.
I ordered a new filter as a starting point, but it looked different than the new one initially. Why? It turns out that the easy pop out/pop in filter was broken off and part of it was still attached and stuck inside the slot where the filter pops in. I wound up using long BBQ tongs, yes indeed...to be able to reach far enough in and push the broken piece back in order for it to click and release so I could pull the broken piece out. Also, obvious to most, don't forget to pull off the two plastic caps protecting prongs on the new one. To install the new one, simply press in and it will click in place. If yours isn't broken off like mine was, install a new filter should take 5 seconds. Press in the old one, it releases, pull it out, press in new one, it clicks and there ya go.
Thank you, Beverly! Amazing, patient, courteous and helpful! 10 star service!
