How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3885460 / 316436001 Large Surface Element Switch

Removed and replaced the large surface element switch. Not difficult, only took 15 minutes start to finish. 

Ordered control board for both heating elements 

Replace Large Surface Element Switch. 

Replaced both element switches and works perfectly now. Thanks to you supplying the parts and providing the video on how to change them. The video was so helpful since I was not sure what was involved, but it was so easy to switch them out. And it saved me hundreds of dollars in repair or replacement. 

Replaced the infinite switch and the element. 

By replacing the heat controls, inspecting the electrical spade connectors for spring tension and corrosion, measuring voltage at both controls while operating to rule out low voltage at the application and advising client to use only a cloth barely moistened with dish soap for cleaning in the vicinity of the switches on the range top. My personal feeling is that the appliance was (mistakenly??) equipped with the incorrect (intended for 6 in elements) switches at the factory, as the two I replaced were the same as what the range was equipped with for the 6 in elements. 

Ordered new switches

Ordered new temperature control, removed the old one & installed the new one. 

Replaced burner switch for large burner,
