How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3844434 / 134399700 Start Switch

Opened the control panel, unscrewed switch and then reassembled. Hardest part was figuring out how to open panel up. Parts fit perfectly and with new knob it looks like new. Works great and saved a ton of cash. 

Unscrew 8 phillips head screws pull off two wire leads attach leads to new switch reinstall new switch 

We ordered both parts from appliancepartspros.com, unplugged the stackable from the electric outlet, took off the front edging of the dryer where all knobs are, replaced the inside piece, put the front back on, put the new knob on and it was done! 

Had to use pliers to start for a number of years and then the post broke off. Asked your chat expert on Saturday for video/instructions. She was able to dig up a manufacture's manual and emailed it to me. Followed those instructions and went pretty much as described. 

Could not find a local electrical part company with the part. Also, could not find the model number on the unit itself. So I looked closely at the part, and entered a number into your parts search, not knowing if the number would help. In seconds I had a part reference, with a photo, of the part. It's description and part matched, so I bought it. I paid more than the part's price for overnight delivery. It was at my house in less than 24-hours from ordering time. 

Ordered a new replacement start switch and knob. When I was cleaning this unit out, I noticed the dryer belt was a little worn and figured I would replace that at the same time. I had the stackable washer/dryer unit outside on the porch when I made the repairs. The items fit like the originals that I took out and work great. I took my time and cleaned more lint stuff out as I did this repair, so it took much longer than most others would take to do the same job. 

Took off the panel and replaced with the proper switch.
