How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2031061 / WB44X10009 Bake Element

After watching video on you tube, I ordered part. Once received, I unplugged stove, got out my power screwdriver, and the rest is history. Was easy to do, works perfectly and I am very happy. As a 66 year old woman, I am also pleased with myself. 

Replaced the part I received from Appliance Parts Pros 

Turned breaker off took two screws out at inside back of oven pulled element out a little bit and unplugged two wires replaced it with new one an about 10 minutes and I am 73. What got me was ordered it Monday night got it Friday afternoon info to Fedex Tues. morn took 4 days from grand prairie to @Wills point TX. I get my orders from Atlanta Georgia (tools I order) in that thank you DANNY 

I replaced the element. Two screws two wires. Probably the easiest appliance fix I have ever done!!! 

ORDERED NEW ELEMENT AFTER GETTING MODELE NUMBER , WHEN I WAS TALKING TO APPLIANCE PART PRO. HE EXPLAINED TO ME HOW TO REPLACE IT SO I DID NOT HAVE TO PULL THE STOVE OUT MAIN FIRST STEP SHUT THE POWER OFF WHICH I DID, THEN HAD TO GET A RACHET TO UNDUE SMALL BOLTS HOLDING OLD UNIT IN AND CLIP THE WIRES AFTER I DETACHED THE ELEMENT AND EXPOSED THE WIRES CLIPPING THEM WITH TWO CLOTHES PINS SO THEY WOULD NOT FALL BACK INTO THE HOLE IN THE STOVE AND THEN I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PULL THE STOVE OUT, AFTER DOING THIS GOT THE NEW ELEMENT AND PLUGED IN EACH WIRE AND TURENED POWER BACK ON TO SEE IF IT WAS WORKING AND IT WAS. VERY EASY AFTER THE REPRESENTATIVE KENETH TOLD ME HOW TO DO IT. 

Went to APP, put in the GE Oven Part number and was able to locate the part that I needed 

I did a little research by looking at you tube videos and read some reviews. After watching some videos, I knew I could replace the bake element myself. (I am a 67-year-old female). It took about 5-10 minutes. very easy to replace. 

Fast service from APP.com. Had a little trouble removing old element as the connectors were tacked on with a small amount of solder. Took me a little while to figure that out after I tried to remove the connectors .Had to heat push-on connectors with soldering iron and push off with a flat-end screwdriver when solder melted. Used a 1/4" nut driver to remove and replace hex-head screws that held bracket to oven back wall. 

Bought and replaced the element. I also had to replace the hot side quick disconnect as it had deteriorated and the actual female connector was missing. I highly recommend buying one or two disconnects when ordering the element just in case. This did require using side cutters, a wire stripper, and a good crimping tool. 

Looked up my part on AppliancePartsPros.com's website and ordered the Bake element. Perfect match and works perfectly!!!
