How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3414906 / WR02X11284 Cam & Thimble

I watched several videos to identify the problem, worn/broken cam riser on bottom door hinge. I ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros.com to replace the cam. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong part due to the pitiful GE door assembly diagram and parts description I was unable to complete the repair. I then called Appliance Parts Pros and was advised that the part I needed is no longer being made and is only available if I googled the part number and found one online. He then gave me the correct part number and I did find one on eBay and have ordered it. Once I have the part it will take less than fifteen minutes to replace it and eliminate the improper door closing problem. The young man who I spoke to at Appliance Parts Pros saved the day for me! 

We purchased the cam assembly for the frig door. We watched a video on how to install the piece. Was very easy to do and the door is working great. Saved us a lot of money doing it ourselves 

Followed you tube video instructions. 

I determined it was a worn lift cam on the bottom of the door. I went on line to find a place that sold the lift cam. Your site showed a part that had a picture of something that was a cam and thimble. I ordered the part . It came in a very short time. I took the hinge off the door and found out the cam was the same part but the thimble was not needed and the hole needed to be round not elongated. I cut off the thimble , jigged up the cam and drilled the elongated hole out so it indexed correctly on the hinge. When this ended the part fit perfectly and the door closes like new. Thank you 

Replaced door hinge cam riser. Took longer to go online and look up and order part than it did to install. 

Sent an email with concerns. checked for voltage as instructed. got lucky I ordered the part beforehand had voltage, installed panel and it all works..... Thank you also replaced the trim panel...
