Replaced door switch 

I had a humming sound when I pressed the start button on my whirlpool dryer. Went on line and determined that it could be due to a bad door switch . I called appliance parts pro on a Sunday expecting to get a recording ,instead a helpful rep took the order and remarkably got the door switch on Tuesday . Under the part on their website was a fantastic video taking you step by step to remove door top of dryer and switch. In all it took me less than 15 minutes. On a scale of 1-10 I would put it at 1 for extremely easy. The best part is I saved at least $150 dollars for house call and part. Thank you appliance part pros … a returning thankful customer .... The dryer needed a new door switch. While I changed the door switch I decided to change the door latch and install a new light bulb. The how to video was exceptionally helpful. It took me about 45 to 60 minutes, I worked slow to be thorough. A lot less expensive than hiring a fix it dude. 

I ordered the dryer drum drive belt, interlock switch, and door switch. Upon disassembling the dryer, it was clearly a snapped drum drive belt (the factory belt is thinner and probably less durable than the replacement belt). I replaced the belt and the switches to boot in under an hour. Parts and next day shipping under $100, which is what I would have paid for the factory service guy to come out in two weeks, before parts and labor to actually fix anything. The instruction videos didn't mention it, but there are some square drive screws in my particular GE dryer. I had an appropriate driver on hand, but it would have been annoying to need to find one at a hardware store on a holiday. 

Had intermittent high frequency squealing for a long time. Recently wouldn't start. Dryer is > 30 yr old. After watching several repair videos on the site, ordered rear bearing kit, front sliders, drive belt, and door switch. Switch selected has higher amp rating since original one not available except on eBay for astronomical price. Recut switch cutout using a Dremel cutoff blade. Crimped on new switch disconnects due to larger size. Disassembly showed rear bearing was totally destroyed, one front slide had worn through to felt, other had cracked through. Drum removal was a bit difficult since dryer model has spot welded front panel so couldn't spread the two side walls apart as shown in the repair video. New rear bearing doesn't use bearing washers or retainer clip to keep drum from moving forward. Also, took some extra time to clean out all the lint and clean all electrical contacts using DeOxit. Started up and operates like brand new. Parts arrived within 1 day. Excellent service. Videos on site are an invaluable resource. 

Trial and error. Your website really help me fix it with you video's was so helpful. I didn't need the door switch. I ordered start button and the door switch so I could make sure I could get my dryer going to save on shipping and time. It took me less than 15 minutes to change out starter button. It works great now. 

I purchase a new door switch from Appliance Parts Pro. 

Replaced switch with the one ordered from appliance parts pros then re-assembled dryer problem solved. dryer works fine again. P.S.- the video shown on your website showing a repair of the switch was a huge help esp. the part showing which wire plugged onto which connection. Thanks!
