How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2020721 / WB14X104 Right Door Hinge

Pull off the door in an upward motion. Remove the spring noting the adjustment hole it comes out of. Remove the hinges three screws. Pull out old hinge and reinsert new one. Reverse the previous steps and your done. Easy fix. Took less than 5min. 

Replaced both hinges. I ordered the parts one day, and the parts arrived the next day by fed ex. That's the quickest any company has delivered parts to me. Amazing.. Thank you !! 

I ordered 2 hinges (left and right) because the old range wasn’t made anymore by the GE company. The left hinge was broken, so the right one has a problem sooner or later. My 13 y/o son replaced both hinges under the father’s supervision and finished them quick in 10 minutes. The delivery took 2 days and came the day before the Thanksgiving Day. The oven door works very good and smooth. I’m very happy because I and my 11y/o daughter can bake the cakes again. The little girl brought 2 trays of unbaked cupcakes to bake at the neighbor’s oven when the oven door completely was taken off the oven, and couldn’t put it back. She was happy and finished her cupcakes at the neighbor’s oven. 

I ordered the right and left hand hinges on Sunday, they arrived on Thursday. Mom had been baking when I arrived, the stove was hot. No problem, it took only 15 minutes, tops, to replace the two hinges and the stove is good as new. Access to the springs is by taking the drawer out, no problem. Good product, good service, easy installation. Thanks! 

Replaced the hinges. 

Ordered both hinges and replaced them by removing the oven door and broiler then spring and then the three screws. Installed the new hinge by putting in the three screws and reattaching the spring in the same hole I had removed it from on the original hinge, which was the bottom hole. Reinstalled the broiler and oven door, all done. I looked on YouTube to ensure I was going to be doing it correctly first. 

Replace both door hinges. Works like new and it is so quiet now when opening the oven door. Took some care and tricks to rebook the internal door springs. 

Screwing in the replacement hinge was not a problem. The problem I had was attaching the spring to the hinge before the hinge could be installed. I ended up looping string around the top of the spring so I could pull it far enough out of the oven to thread the spring through the correct hole in the spring. Be careful how you hold the hinge or you can pinch your finger. I did--ouch. 

Replaced the right side arm. Amazing. My oven door has never worked this smooth. Paid someone to do the left arm years ago, do not know why they did not do both at the same time, however, it is awesome to have my oven door shut and easy to open and close 

Checked YouTube video on how to repair. Decided to replace both hinges. Ordered and received hinges. I am a 76-year-old female with a recently injured back, so I didn't get to the project right away. Finally decided I could handle it. Removed oven door and bottom drawer. Had to get down on floor to disconnect springs to hinges. Video said use needle-nose pliers. I had to use channel locks--the springs are quite sturdy. Removed old hinges. Left one, no problem. Right one needed power drill/screwdriver, then the middle screw was still stuck. Took out the top and bottom screws and twisted the hinge. Finally broke loose. After that, no problem, except reattaching those sturdy springs. Husband was pleasantly surprised that morning to find the door repaired!
