How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5788185 / MWFP Refrigerator Water Filter

Replaced filter. 

I ordered the Water Tube Assembly and decided to install it myself. I have zero experience with fixing refrigerators. The video provided by Appliance Parts Pros walked me through the process. We had a part break off of our auger, and our ice maker didn't work very well after that. My husband fixes everything around our home, including our appliances, however, I had more time than he did, so I did a Google search for parts to our freezer/refrigerator. This website was amazingly user friendly, and incredibly helpful! I just ordered parts for our GE stove. Cannot wait for it to look nice again! Thank you!

I did not turn off my water. I put a small towel below the filter and turned the old filter by hand until it came off. I filled the new filter with tap water then lined up the arrow on the new filter with the arrow on the holder. I turned it by hand the opposite direction until it locked in place. I ran about three glasses of water from the refrigerator to get the air out of the line. It took less than five minutes. 

Twisted the old one out and placed the new one in. 

I had a service man come and replace them
