Francene G Fort Myers , FL November 11, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Microwave JVM1540DM5WW Over the stove microwave would not heat (only 2 years old) I goggled why my microwave would not heat and found an article on Appliance pros of 3 possibilities. 2 easy to fix..so I started with the first one which was the door switches. Followed the instructions and found the switches,removed them, brought them to my local Ace hardware to check connectivity. 2 of the 3 switches where bad. Came home and ordered the parts from Appliance Pro on Wednesday and had a working microwave on Friday. Thank you to Appliance Pro!!! Saved me $400.00 for a new microwave. We were thinking of spending another $200 on a new microwave but only spent $5 on a new switch and $10 on a multimeter to determine which switch was faulty. Richard S Boulder , CO September 23, 2016 Appliance: Model GEJVM1540DM5BB Ge over stove microwave turntable stopped working and microwave would not heat Checked online and found a video of how to access the door switches. It was very easy. Only required the removal of three screws to remove front panel to access the switches. Checked all three switches with a continuity tester and located one failed switch. I replaced the bad switch, it appeared somewhat burned, and everything works great, now. The microwave oven is only four years old. The part arrived at my home in 3 days. You microwave trouble shooting page showed me exactly where the part was located in the microwave. I could remove the old bad part and install the new one with the microwave still located above the oven. It was all fixed from the front of the appliance. Read More...
