Removed the timer (after unplugging the dryer. Transferred the wire harness to the new part. Noticed one black wire from the motor itself was not connected to the same terminal as the old one. Tried it anyway: timer didn't count down. Removed it again, changed the wire location to be same as the old one, now it's fine.
