Robert E Key Largo , FL October 27, 2015 The timer that turns off the dryer stopped operating Ordered a new switch assembly that contained the timer for the dryer. Removed the old switch and installed the new one one wire at a time. Installation of the new switch resolved the problem. Michael F Williams Bay , WI June 06, 2017 The dryer timer quit working dryer wouldn't start timer began smoking Removed the timer (after unplugging the dryer. Transferred the wire harness to the new part. Noticed one black wire from the motor itself was not connected to the same terminal as the old one. Tried it anyway: timer didn't count down. Removed it again, changed the wire location to be same as the old one, now it's fine.
