How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3995164 / WE1M652 Dryer Timer Knob

It was very easy.I did pull it the old one and put back the new one. 

New dryer knob was ordered and installed. Additional part ordered was not required, but I decided to keep the timer for possible future need. I'm surprised that GE used to be a great name in appliances. The dryer performed well until the warranty period expired by a matter of days, and GE wanted $300 to come to the residence for repair. Very disappointing. However, the saving grace was being able to locate the products I thought I might need for a "do it yourself" repair. I was extremely happy with the staff at Appliance Parts Pros...as always .... gave pleasant, swift and accurate service in assisting me with part numbers for the order and with placing the order. The delivery was on time as expected. Never disappointed with Appliance Parts Pros. I have used their services for several years. I do appreciate having a go to for simple repair jobs that I... as a woman am able to perform myself. Savings to the consumer are really large. 

Ordered the whole timer and the timer switch. 

By replacing the broken timer knob with the new one. 

Timer and knob were perfect match. 15 minutes to install. All good. 

It was a simple replacement. 

I order the knob, put it on and it worked find. 

Removed back plate to dryer to access the timer. I believe this was a defective part from the manufacturer when I purchase the dryer new. I have had issues with the timer knob before. I was very impressed on how quick I received the part.
